Demon and Devil Names and their Sigils

April 30, 2022 by 6lopw

After much debate as to whether to include this page on this site, I’ve decide that it would be best, for several reasons, not to include my in-depth list of names and sigils.  There are a few reasons why, that I can share.  First, knowledge is power… to know the name of a demon or devil is to have SOME power over it but if its name were to be used for the wrong purpose, say by a black magician, sorcerer, or satanist, it could be used to invoke that demon for the harm of others.  Secondly, since I originally posted a glossary of paranormal terms on my first website, several other websites have used that exact same page on their own site without my permission and without giving me any credit.  Although the object of any research and assistance organization is to help others and make the general public as knowledgeable as possible, I do not find it ethical for any organization to just take my many hours of hard work to use as their own creation without ever doing any of the research themselves.

What are sigils?  Sigils are, to sum it up, a seal.  An image used to symbolize a particular spirits name, here are a couple examples:

St. Gabriel St. Michael

There have been quite a few cases I’ve investigated where an unknown, and often odd name came into play through the course of the case.  Obtaining the knowledge of what the name meant, what it stood for and what role it plays in a situation of preternatural hauntings was crucial in getting to the root of the problems or what was causing the problems and what avenues should be taken to bring closure.  I currently have a list of over 350 names I’ve accumulated over the years, just a drop in the bucket as far as demonic names are concerned, but still a very important factor when dealing with preternatural activity.  I also have a collection of over 80 sigils, mainly of demonic and diabolical entities, which can also be used in helping to determine specifics of what or who is involved in a particular haunting.

Please do not ask me for a full list of demonic names or sigils.  As much as I believe that information should be disseminated, I would consider it irresponsible of me to give out a full list of demonic names.  Too often, these names can be used for the wrong purposes.
