Demon and Devil Names and their Sigils

April 30, 2022 by 6lopw

After much debate as to whether to include this page on this site, I’ve decide that it would be best, for several reasons, not to include my in-depth list of names and sigils.  There are a few reasons why, that I can share.  First, knowledge is power… to know the name of a demon or devil is to have SOME power over it but if its name were to be used for the wrong purpose, say by a black magician, sorcerer, or satanist, it could be used to invoke that demon for the harm of others.  Secondly, since I originally posted a glossary of paranormal terms on my first website, several other websites have used that exact same page on their own site without my permission and without giving me any credit.  Although the object of any research and assistance organization is to help others and make the general public as knowledgeable as possible, I do not find it ethical for any organization to just take my many hours of hard work to use as their own creation without ever doing any of the research themselves.

What are sigils?  Sigils are, to sum it up, a seal.  An image used to symbolize a particular spirits name, here are a couple examples:

St. Gabriel St. Michael

There have been quite a few cases I’ve investigated where an unknown, and often odd name came into play through the course of the case.  Obtaining the knowledge of what the name meant, what it stood for and what role it plays in a situation of preternatural hauntings was crucial in getting to the root of the problems or what was causing the problems and what avenues should be taken to bring closure.  I currently have a list of over 350 names I’ve accumulated over the years, just a drop in the bucket as far as demonic names are concerned, but still a very important factor when dealing with preternatural activity.  I also have a collection of over 80 sigils, mainly of demonic and diabolical entities, which can also be used in helping to determine specifics of what or who is involved in a particular haunting.

Please do not ask me for a full list of demonic names or sigils.  As much as I believe that information should be disseminated, I would consider it irresponsible of me to give out a full list of demonic names.  Too often, these names can be used for the wrong purposes.

Runic Alphabet

April 30, 2022 by 6lopw

There are many different forms of scripts used by various cults throughout the world but over the years I’ve seen the runic alphabet used most often.  This has also been known as the Satanic Alphabet.  This form of script is very common among many different types of occults.  If you come across script of this nature, be wary.  Depending on the intent of the creator, even just the deciphering and reading of one of these scripts can invoke the curse intended.  People have been mailed verses and incantations written in this script, often sealed with candle wax.  Once the wax has been broken, the mystical words contained within are invoked.  Only someone who knows how to counter-act spells or curses can help reverse what has been enacted.  Do not attempt to do this yourself, for dealing with people of this nature is dangerous and usually does not work.  Contact a local priest or religious authority of your denomination, or contact me immediately if you feel you are in danger.

There are groups, however, that use this from of script as merely a way of semi-secretly communicating to each other.  As with everything else, there are always exceptions to the rules.  Just because you may find something written in this script does not necessarily mean it is something of mal-intent.  Use common sense: are you involved, in any way, with occultist individuals or groups?  Are you in a physical location known as a ritual or cultic site?  If there is any doubt in your mind or any uneasiness, simply burn, if possible, the letter/writings.

One point I would like to clarify, and I would like to thank a visitor by the name of Kevin for bringing this point up, is that the Runic Alphabet is not satanic in nature.  At it’s creation, it was solely a means of communication, much as English is today.  It has been known to have been, and continue to be used by satanists, however, for more negative purposes.  As stated above, finding writing of this nature does not necessarily mean something bad is going to happen but you must be aware of the possibilities.

Born Again Christian Belief

April 29, 2022 by 6lopw

After receiving many letters from people claiming that Christians who are re-born (Born Again) CANNOT be possessed, I decided to write up some info and thoughts on this subject. I once had an e-mail debate with a Christian Reverend who was adamant in stating that, based on Bible scripture, it is impossible for a Born Again to be possessed by demonic spirits. The simple truth is that NO ONE is safe from this possibility and to deny that fact is to make yourself more vulnerable. As quoted from another page on this site, “The Devil is safest from detection where his very existence is denied.” No person, like it or not, is above the possibility of possession. My comments and thoughts are not intended to insult, offend, or ridicule anyone, but simply to imply that reality and experience has proven otherwise. I can see the possibility of people reacting harshly to this page but please try to remember that we’re all on the same side, just with varying points of view.

Furthermore, I’ve had Born Again Christian also tell me, after stating my experiences dealing with possession, that the person who was possessed must have fallen from grace or done something to otherwise remove his or her “Born Again” status to try to explain away the facts that possession does and can occur to a Born Again. Nope. Face it, every religious denomination, for the most part, believes they are the “True” religion, all others are wrong (for lack of a better term), but the simple fact is most people believe in a “Higher Power” and that’s what matters… where the differences lie is in the detailed belief and ritual structure and practicing methods of the individual denominations. Based on that, people are people, no matter what religious denomination a person believes in, fundamentally we’re all the same and each person is vulnerable to demonic and diabolical attacks, internally or externally.

When talking about this subject to various people, one of the first things I hear is that the scriptures state this and the scriptures state that. Along those lines, I did a little surfing to find out what a wide variety of Born Again Christians really think and found an overwhelming majority DO believe in the possibility in Born Agains being possessed. I’ve taken some quotes from a few of these sites to summarize their points of view:

“Most Evangelicals deny that Born Again Christians may be demon-possessed, but Deliverance advocates teach that no one is immune, not even a regenerate believer in whom the Spirit dwells.”

“That Satan has some access to Christians is of little dispute among believers. The Bible plainly says Satan can tempt a believer to sin and further influence him for evil. The question we will address in this text is, what are the limits of Satan’s influence, and is demon possession of a Christian a possibility. The large majority of Christians don’t believe a born again Christian can in any manner be possessed by a devil or demon, but facts and truth are not determined my majority opinion. The final authority for ALL matters is the Holy Bible (KJB) and there is where we will look for our answers.”

“Anyone that has read the Bible at all knows it speaks of people being possessed by “devil(s)” or “unclean spirits.” Christ and His disciples dealt with possessed people regularly and always cast the invading spirits out (Matt. 4:24; Mark 6:7, etc.). As to how these spirits originated or became evil, the Bible is mostly silent. There is some indication they may be the spirits of the “sons of God” who took on flesh and came unto the “daughters of men” in Noah’s day and later died in the flood (Gen. 6:1-4), but there is no proof that is the case. Others suggest they are angels that chose to rebel with Lucifer (Isa. 14; Eze. 28) before man’s creation and subsequently became “devils,” but there is no clear proof of this either. Instead of speculating as to their origin, let’s look at what can be known; what the Scriptures do reveal.

Mark 5:1-20 is the definitive passage on demon possession and its effects in the Bible. Some of the details about demons the Bible reveals in this passage are:

  1. Devils want to be near dead human bodies or tombs (vs. 2, 3, 5).
  2. They can cause unusual strength (vs. 3-4).
  3. They can make a person unreasonable or immune to sensible persuasion (vs. 4).
  4. They cause excessive crying (vs. 5).
  5. They cause sadistic and masochistic behavior (vs. 5).
  6. They have an affinity for heights (vs. 5).
  7. They recognize Christ as “the Son of God” and appeal to Him (vs. 6-7).
  8. They know they deserve torment and dread it (vs. 6-7).
  9. They have names (vs. 9).
  10. More than one can possess the same body (vs. 9).
  11. They desire to stay in the same geographical region or “country” (vs. 10).
  12. They would rather indwell an animal body than none at all (vs. 12).
  13. They can cause animals to kill themselves (vs. 13).
  14. They desire to be in a body when it dies (vs. 13).
  15. They have a desire for water (vs. 13).

Mark 9:17-29 gives us even more details about devils:

  1. They can cause dumbness and deafness (vs. 17, 25).
  2. They cause rabid animal like behavior (vs. 18).
  3. They can indwell from childhood (vs. 21).
  4. They cause suicidal behavior (vs. 22).
  5. They resist leaving a body and violently “rent” it while leaving (vs. 26).
  6. There are different kinds of devils. Some have more power than others (vs. 29).
  7. Some can only be removed by prayer and fasting of believer (vs. 29).

Ephesians 6:12 states Satan has a hierarchy of “devils” in his kingdom, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Thus some devils have more power and authority than others.”

“Over the years, while reading and discussing demon possession with other Christian’s, your author has found many are repulsed by even the suggestion that a Christian may be susceptible to demon possession. They talk as if one is extremely ignorant or even demented to even think such a thing, but when asked for their biblical proof that it is not possible, their position becomes desperate. They simply cannot produce a passage or verse that PROVES their argument, yet they still cling to their belief.”

“Over the years your author has found that all the arguments against demon possession of Christians are either based purely on emotion or on a misapplication of Scripture. You may be thinking, “Are you saying a Christian can be demon possessed? No, I didn’t say that. What I am saying is there is no place in the Bible that conclusively says Christians can’t be possessed. But, on the contrary, there are passages that seem to indicate (though not conclusively prove) that demon possession of believers CAN occur.”

“When asked for reasons why they think Christians can’t be demon possessed one will usually hear, “It’s not possible for the Holy Spirit and a demon to dwell in the same body,” “It is unthinkable to believe the Holy Spirit would let a devil in a Christian’s body, which is God’s temple,” A born again believer has been redeemed by the blood of Christ and because of that no devil can indwell him,” etc., etc. But such arguments are purely emotional without a single Bible verse to stand on. These people have convinced themselves of something that is not true because of the repulsiveness of the question, but emotion and feelings do not make “sound doctrine.””

“When a person is born again he is placed in Christ and Christ comes in him, and the believers destiny with Christ is certain. John is here comforting believers by reminding them of this and reassures them by insisting there is nothing Satan or anyone else can do about it. He is not saying believers are immune any type of satanic influence or cannot suffer in the flesh. As we have seen, other passages clearly state Satan does have access to believers. In fact Peter said to believers, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may DEVOUR” (1 Pet 5:8).”

“Though your author has no personal experience in dealing with demons (other than sometimes sensing their presence), there are several Christians who have much experience. One is German researcher Kurt Koch, author of “Occult ABC” and many other books about demons and the occult. He said the following concerning Christians and demon possession. ‘One question is hotly disputed among believing Christians. This is the question whether or not a Christian can be possessed. Many years of experience lead me to the conclusion that those who have no experience of dealing with the possessed say “No”. Those, who have counseled many possessed ones, know that even believers can be controlled or ruled by demons. These facts do not follow anyone’s preconceived ideas. Our Ideas must be formed, rather, on the basis of facts.’ ”

“The reason we published this article was not to unduly scare anyone or try to stir up controversy, but to warn Christians who may have a false sense of security about demon possession. From talking to several fellow believers we have found most dismiss the possibility of demon possession of believers for purely emotional reasons and are not familiar enough with what the Bible says on the subject to make a knowledgeable comment. They simply don’t want it to be true and like a small child think wishing it so will make it so. But as we have seen, the Bible makes no such promise about possession and actually suggests it may be possible so the safest position a believer could take is even though the Bible doesn’t definitely say either way one must allow for the possibility. This is the only sensible approach. Unless one is absolutely certain there is no danger ahead, it is always prudent, in whatever circumstance, to assume the possibility of danger. This is prudent behavior whether one driving in his car or dealing with matters the Bible does not address specifically. Christians can have confidence and security about their salvation, their destiny, their Bible, and their Lord because of what the Bible says, but in areas the Bible is silent, confidence can be misplaced.

My sole purpose of including this page is strictly as an attempt to explain that in all reality, the possibility of possession does exist for ANYONE, regardless of race, sex, age, or religious denomination. As written in the last paragraph, I would agree to this warning: To look at this subject with open eyes is to best protect yourself…”This is the only sensible approach. Unless one is absolutely certain there is no danger ahead, it is always prudent, in whatever circumstance, to assume the possibility of danger. This is prudent behavior whether one driving in his car or dealing with matters the Bible does not address specifically. Christians can have confidence and security about their salvation, their destiny, their Bible, and their Lord because of what the Bible says, but in areas the Bible is silent, confidence can be misplaced.”

Exorcism

April 29, 2022 by 6lopw

While surfing the web one day I stumbled across a fairly well know web site, which I will not mention, and was amazed at what I found, concerning their views on exorcism and demonic spirits. I decided to write my opinions and beliefs on exorcism based on what I experienced through many years of research. After reading many of the pages in that organizations website, I was shocked to discover how closed minded they truly were about such issues… even more so when I realized that they claim to be ministers. Although I do not believe in publicly criticizing any individual or organization, I find their unwillingness to see reality of true demonic activity truly disturbing. I also think it is irresponsible for a group to shut out such possibilities to those who may need their help. It also makes me wonder why groups such as this exist… simply to sell merchandise? What do they do to HELP people? By not including this particular organization’s name, I hope to justify this page. The following paragraphs are solely MY opinion based on experience and study and are not intended to attack or offend anyone.

I am not, by any means, a “Bible Thumper”, I consider myself to be a rational individual who looks at ALL possibilities before coming to any type of conclusion as to the nature of a situation. Having an in-depth technical background, as well as a good understanding of supernatural and preternatural theories and many years of experience dealing with all aspects of this field, I attempt, on a case by case basis, to ensure the most accurate and feasible conclusions are made, especially before concluding a demonic or diabolical explanation… BUT… demonic and diabolical spirits DO exist and they DO possess people and they CAN be exorcised. Here are a few quotes that I found both amusing and disturbing:

“I have never encountered demonic activities, but I have encountered ghosts with attitudes! I do not call these angry ghosts, demonic or evil.” / “If you subscribe to a belief system that promotes the existence of demons, I am sorry, but I cannot validate your belief.” – It sounds to me that if this person has never encountered demonic spirits they COULD never know they exist and of course they could never validate them but that does not mean demonic and diabolical spirits do not exist. People don’t see or encounter electrons as they move within a computer but they exist and that’s how you’re viewing this page now. It’s not fair to people to underestimate or negate a situation, if it’s truly demonic, it’s dangerous.

“First, exorcism is a myth, it does not work. Attempting exorcism only invites repercussion back to you. This is the Law of the Boomerang, what you send forth comes back to you. Exorcism will anger spirits because they are being commanded to depart and the person doing the exorcism has no power to command it.” – First off, the Law of Boomerang? What the heck is that? Second, they’re right about one thing here, a PERSON does not have the power to command a demonic spirit to leave BUT an exorcist who has been sanctioned by the church and has gone through the correct preparation procedures has the powers of goodness with him, he becomes “goodness incarnate” … it is not a person speaking, it is the power of goodness (God, Jesus Christ, St. Michael, etc…) speaking THROUGH him. Now if, according to this statement, exorcisms do not work, why would an “Exorcism will anger spirits because they are being commanded to depart”? Lastly, should we interpret this statement as saying the Catholic church, and many other denominations of religions that practice exorcisms, all lie or are wrong about exorcisms. Is this statement saying that all the DOCUMENTED, successful, exorcisms performed were all a sham? Are ALL exorcisms effective? No. Also, sometimes due to varying circumstances, numerous exorcisms may be needed.

“I am a licensed, ordained minister, but that does not mean I or any other ordained minister or priest holds the power to command spirits of the dead. Let’s not delude ourselves, ghost exist in another dimension. No one has power to command spirits from another dimension. God does not intervene in the affairs of men. Bad things do happen to good people! God does not prevent it from happening, nor will He remove spirits from our dimension. Folklore hints that exorcism is valid, but no evidence exist that it has ever worked. Exorcism is a myth established swindler and charlatan claim exorcism will works, but there is a fee for their services. Do not be deceived.” – WOW, where do I begin? This person claims to be an ordained minister but claims that no evidence exists as to whether or not exorcism works… read the bible! Demonic and diabolical spirits are not spirits of the dead, they’ve never lived to begin with. I’m a little spooked over the fact that as a “minister” this person truly believes that God does not interfere in human welfare… does that mean they don’t believe in miracles? Also, no church I’m aware of charges “fees” to perform exorcisms. These statements, in my eyes, are extremely contradictory to the core belief systems of any form of clergyman/woman.

Some of the statements made by this organization are realistic however. One should always take into account many other possibilities before assuming demonic, diabolical, possession, exorcism, or the like. Natural causes such as electromagnetic / geomagnetic influences have proven to cause very odd manifestations; PsychoKenesis has been proven to exist and, again, cause unusual effects; mental and psychological state is a major factor; Multiple personality disorder has been often confused with possession, etc… a GOOD investigator takes all these possibilities into account.

Simply put, exorcisms DO work. Not ALL exorcisms work, granted, and the outcome greatly depends on many factors including the piousness of the individual performing the exorcism, the strength of the possessing spirit, the willpower of the individual themselves, and much more. I have been involved with several exorcisms personally and have seen and witnessed demonic and diabolical activity and possession first-hand. If there is a means to START activity and events like this, there are means to STOP it also. The bible itself mentions evil spirits, possession, and exorcism and to deny that is to deny the basis that most of us believe in.

I’m sure that most have us have seen the movie “The Exorcist”. That movie is based on a true story, based on the 1947 (if memory serves) exorcism of a young Jewish boy. This case was fully documented by the Catholic church from the time they initially got involved with his case. This boy was put through battery of medical and psychological tests by the church and even the doctors witnessed preternatural activity. During the exorcism, St. Michael himself spoke through the boy and did what the church was having a difficult time doing… ridding him of the diabolical spirit which possessed him. The course of these events lasted years and had it not been for people believing in possession and exorcism, this boy would have died. To minimize these issues is dangerous and irresponsible.

Again, these views are my own and when it comes to issues like this, I will vigorously defend the needs of those who truly need help of this nature. For a group or individual, especially those who claim to be a religious authority, to make such close minded statements is, again, irresponsible. I certainly do not jump to a quick conclusion concerning matters of demonic or diabolical natures, or possession and exorcism… I HAVE however witnessed, experienced, and been directly involved with them. What disturbs me the most is the fact that when people need help, they sometimes turn to the web and if they come across this site and ask for help, what do they get? Are they told they’re making it all up? Are they told they’re over exaggerating the issue? What do organizations like this do for people in need of help? When people make statements claiming they’re a religious authority, others typically put more weight on their opinions and that can be dangerous to a victim needing help if organizations like this belittle the situation and don’t get the victim in touch with an organization or individual that IS willing to believe them and help them.

To summarize, organizations like the one mentioned above serve a good purpose in the way of attempting to provide evidence of the supernatural (and maybe to make some money for themselves) but if you’re looking for help, do what’s best for YOU, don’t take one person’s opinions (even mine) as gospel. Talk to others, learn as much as you can about these subjects and go to those who are willing to help you, not belittle you.

Provoking

April 29, 2022 by 6lopw

I decided to do a write-up concerning provoking due to the staggering number of people I’ve encountered that use provocation as a standard part of their investigative routine. Provoking, when done correctly, is a very dangerous routine and should never been taken light-heartedly. Too many people doing this do not take it as seriously as it should be taken. There are many problems with that and the paragraphs below will discuss what provoking is, what it does, what it can do, and when provocation should and should not be used.

What is provocation?

Provocation, or to provoke, is to actively, purposefully call on any spirits present to reveal their identity, to show themselves, or to give a sign of their presence. This should ONLY be done by a demonologist, or someone who knows, to great extent, what they’re doing and how to STOP what they’ve begun, should the provocation work. True provocation ONLY works on one type of spirit, the inhuman spirit; the negative, demonic or diabolical spirit. It may, however, also work on a negative human spirit as well. Provoking is very dangerous because, in all actuality, it is an invitation for the spirit to manifest. Most often, and depending on who is doing the provoking, provocation does NOT work. Why? There are many different reasons. In most cases, the spirit may know the provoker to be of no threat to them and simply does not obey, or is more powerful than the provocation.

There are numerous methods of provocation, and which one works best would be determined by the type of spirit present. In general, the person doing the provoking needs to figure out what form of provocation produces the desired results, and continually needs to adjust as necessary. Like people, inhuman spirits are “annoyed” by different things and that can be used to the demonologist’s advantage. Without having to perform “true” provocations, the spirit can be provoked using annoyances, thus increasing activity without bringing out the full force of the spirit present. That is a good way of gaining evidence without going too far, too fast. Start small and simple, and work up when necessary. Using the “annoyance” form of provocation requires a lot of trial and error, for like people, we won’t know what annoys it until we find something that does. If the “annoyance” method of provocation does not work, then the person performing the provocation would have to go to a higher level. This is where care must be taken, for now we are personally directing an “attack” on the spirit and it WILL take it personally and retaliate. Prayers are another form, and can be a powerful form, of provocation. When the intent of a prayer is simply to provoke, there is a good chance of the activity within a house to increase. Conversely, some forms of provocation will cause a spirit to temporarily leave. Nothing says a spirit HAS to stay in the house during a provocation and many times during a prayer form of provocation, the spirit will simply leave and come back at a later time… possibly to retaliate. Remember, now the provoker is outright confronting the spirit, and they don’t like that. Still another form of provocation is an outright command, using Holy Names, for the spirit to reveal itself. This CAN be the most dangerous form of provocation, for if the right person is doing the provoking and the negative spirit has not left the house, it MUST obey. But HOW it obeys is up to it… it can reveal itself by a simple knock on a wall or floor or it can conduct an all out siege on the house and everyone within the house. This leads me to when provocation should and should not be done.

When provocation should and should not be performed

First of all, if a human spirit is involved, provocation should NOT be done. Why? Provocation, in general, uses God’s power and will to command, most human spirits have a belief in a “higher power” and don’t consider Holiness a threat because they’re on the same side. The provocation will, normally, be completely ineffective. An experienced paranormal investigator or demonologist should know this. There are many other means of dealing with human spirits but I will not cover those, there are numerous resources on the internet and elsewhere for that. If a person or investigator is truly psychic, there are only a few instances when true provocation is needed, they should be able to rely on their abilities to determine what type of spirit is in the dwelling. Again, because of the inherent danger of provoking a demonic or diabolical force, it should only be used when absolutely necessary. And when it is used, the person conducting the provocation should know, without hesitation, how to be able to handle the situations that may arise. As stated earlier, if activity is already present, there should be no need, whatsoever, for provoking… because provoking while activity is already taking place has the possibility to increasing the activity to uncontrollable levels and that is unsafe for everyone involved. If provocation is deemed necessary by the demonologist or experienced investigator, they should consult the family or individual first as to why they deem it necessary, how it will be done, and what they should do should activity or manifestations occur. If the family is not comfortable with this idea, the provocation should not take place. If the family is agreeable, all people not involved should gather in ONE location or room while the provoker (who should have another person with him/her) is in another. This is for the safety of family members, for once provocation begins, the person provoking becomes the sole target of the force they’re attacking and it would be a grave error to include the family in this aspect.

What is the purpose of provoking?

Again, that will depend on who you ask. In all actuality, the purpose of provoking is to increase activity so it can be sensed either visibly or audibly or used to gather evidence. So, why would we want to do that? Not everyone has psychic abilities, the means of sensing what is present, and therefore require more proof as to the nature of what’s present. If the person conducting the provocation has no psychic ability and there is no activity taking place, provoking will, depending on all the circumstances listed above, give them the ability to quickly determine the nature and strength of the spirit present. They would know, first off, that what they are dealing with is inhuman in nature, because it reacted to God’s command (remember, although the provoker is the one speaking, it is the power of goodness and Holiness that does the actual commanding). They would also get a feel as to the general power of the inhuman spirit, that is very general though because, again, the spirit will respond in any way IT chooses, not the way the provoker chooses. Another purpose for provoking is if church intervention is deemed necessary. In my experiences with the various religions, most church officials will not authorize a priest or other religious authority to respond or act based on a simple claim by an individual or family, that is too risky, understandably so. The church will normally require much evidence as to the activity taking place before they get involved and, at times, may send a priest to the victim’s house as a witness to the alleged phenomena. Provocation at such a time will be helpful in proving the case as factual and real.

To summarize, very few cases truly require provocation. Again, if YOU are the one in crisis and an investigator claims a need to provoke, ask questions, it’s your right. Ask WHY provoking is necessary, ask WHAT they will do should it work. If you are not comfortable with their responses, don’t allow it to happen, it’s YOUR house, it’s YOUR crisis, they get to leave when they’re done, you’re stuck there, left to deal with any outcome of a botched investigation. Provoking can be a very power ally of the experienced investigator or it can be a very powerful enemy of an inexperienced person who goes too far, too fast.

The Paranormal Investigator/Organization

April 29, 2022 by 6lopw

Look on the internet… there are hundreds, if not thousands of groups and people who do paranormal investigating, or “ghosthunting”. For the most part, most of these people and groups focus on human spirits and hauntings. Their main goal is to gather evidence; take photographs, audio and video recordings and electronic measurements. That is an important part of this work, without evidence collection we would never be able to prove that the supernatural exists. A few of these groups have done an outstanding job on their side of the work, obtaining evidence and publicizing the existence of human spirits, a very important part of this work.

Too many, however, don’t really bring closure to the people needing help. That is very troublesome… they are asked in to help with a haunting and a group of people show up, taking over the persons house, take pictures, audio, video and then state that not enough or no evidence was acquired and a second, third, etc visit is needed. When you go to their website, your case is listed on the site, photos are there, but did you really get the help you needed? Very few case files I’ve read on many of these sites include ANYTHING dealing with what they did to actually help bring closure to the cases they investigated. It almost appears like they’re competing amongst themselves to see who can get the most pictures or the most stories or the most audio (EVP’s). Why do they really exist? It seems to me that they are trying for the most publicity… that’s the wrong reason, in my eyes anyway. I am NOT saying that all of the groups or people are like that, there are several organizations that are truly out to help others, but not enough when compared to how many are available over the web. If you are in a situation where you need legitimate help, be wary as to who you contact.

Anyone, from any walk of life, can be a paranormal investigator. All that is needed is the desire to find and experience the unknown. You can have only the most basic of equipment or the most sophisticated equipment available. You can learn from any experienced investigator, they can teach you much… but the best teacher is experience. Get out there and do it, get involved. One point to make here… if you are currently, or have been in the past, the victim of a human haunting or preternatural attack, I DO NOT recommend you ever become an investigator, you are already very susceptible and you put yourself and/or family at great risk by re-exposing yourself to supernatural entities.
